You don't speak Dutch?
That's no problem, I am happy to speak English with you.
I can schedule an English-language workshop for you on request if there are enough participants. But you can also join a Dutch-language workshop or lesson. There is plenty of time to translate it for you.
Teaching motivates me to deepen my skills and knowledge even more.
During my childhood, we caught shrimps on the beach and made a fire from washed-up wood to cook on. If I found strands of wool on a fence, it became a string. Building huts, climbing trees, finding water mint along the water's edge.
After studying graphic design and fine art in 2006, I started painting realistically and teaching various creative skills. At first, this was among the cows and sheep in the barn. Later in my own studio at home, where I still give weekly painting lessons and workshops.
In September 2023, I obtained my associate degree as a bushcraft instructor from Aeres hogeschool in Wageningen and started to professionalise my bushcraft business. During this study, I was an intern at ‘Siegurd, bushcraft and survival’.
Bushcraft, beachcraft, mountaincraft or poldercraft? Natural materials can be found everywhere for crafting. I enjoy them every day.
For years, I have had a passion for depicting and reliving historical life. Many weekends and holidays have been spent in historical clothing in the Netherlands and abroad. Thanks to these experiences, I found out that being outdoors and practising crafts makes me happy.
In spring 2022, I started working as an Archeo interpreter at historical park Archeon. There, I mainly work on the weaving workshop in the Middle Ages.
Historical crafts teach me a lot. For example, what it's like to live without electronics and plastic.
Living in the polder where the randstad buzz mixes with the greenery is not bad. But it is in stark contrast to nature in Austria. We often go there to our family home where we enjoy the peace and quiet and the mountains. Every time we go there, we discover new wonderful trails and vistas. They are my finest holidays and I love taking course participants with me.
